Suri Lee (Sugyeong) is a spatial and conceptual designer based in the Netherlands and South Korea. She explores the relationship between people and places, focusing on forgotten stories and emotions held in a site. Using both raw natural materials and industrial elements, she creates installations that suggest new perspective on connection, memory and survival.
She experiments with various materials that reflect the physical qualities of a place, focusing especially on using local resources collected from the site. In a recent a tunnel installation project based on Korea’s modern history and her own family story, she transformed the negative underground space into a place for healing, exploring how emotions and memories can be restored through spatial experience.
